The VechainThor blockchain is now officially live. Seconds after the launch the genesis block was successfully mined at midnight UTC June 30, 2018 by one of the Authority nodes.
The launch marks the start of an important period for the VechainThor blockchain. Investors will be able to swap their Ethereum VEN tokens for the VechainThor VET tokens, and all enterprises currently running on Vechain’s private blockchain will be migrated to the public VechainThor platform in the upcoming months.

Just the start
The launch of mainnet signals the start of a period of change for the VechainThor platform.
The next few weeks will have various events:
- July 9: The VechainThor mobile wallet will become available for Android and iOS.
- July 9: X-node binding service becomes available
- Mid July: Exchanges will offer Vechain token swap services
- August 1: X-node status monitoring resumes.
With the mainnet now launched, all 101 authority nodes will come online in the next few weeks. After this we will see enterprises that are already running on Vechain’s private chain to migrate towards the public VechainThor blockchain.
